I can still recount our special day, what I don’t remember is the way everything looks now. The beach looks the same but my beautiful bride and I aren’t quite the same and neither is the place we were married. For countless centuries people have come to the beach to frolic in the ocean, have fun sunning in the sand and get married.
Kathy and I have had the blessing of visiting many beaches in our hemisphere, each having its own distinctive local flavor and personality because of the people that both live there and the visitors. Time is changing the visitors and the locals, but the beaches and ocean keep beating to the same drummer, unchanged.
This year marks twenty that I’ve had the greatest honor calling Kathy my girl. While our appearances may be slowly changing, our love for adventure and each other has only grown stronger. Like the millions before us, we will continue our beach seeking journey. I hope you do too. The sea… there’s no other place like it.
As I wish my girl a happy anniversary, I want to remind everyone to enjoy, there’s a beach near you and the locals can’t wait to see you again.
