Life can get messy and ugly, we all will or have experienced it. In times of difficulty, times of loss or hopelessness, many of us have often asked ourselves, will things get better for me? No one knows what tomorrow holds, the amazing possibilities or the tragedy that may come, but we can be sure that there is a God in heaven that knows and He wants you to have hope, joy and peace.
My wife Kathy and I, along with a couple that are two of our best friends, traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, arriving on October 1, 2016. After leaving home we learned that Hurricane Matthew was coming our way. It soon became a category 5 hurricane and we were in the path of it. It missed our side of the island of Hispaniola completely, but not Haiti. Where millions of people endured the horrific loss of life , homes and businesses. I know the Haitians are asking the question, will things get better for me?
I can’t explain why the storm missed us but hit them. Was it prayers answered? I can only say we were thankful for whatever reason God had. Life seems to be that way, random, but when you start to look back, with the hand of the Holy Spirit guiding you, you just might see how most of the tragedies brought about good or taught you something very valuable. Look to God when you ask will things get better for me?

Will things get better for me?
When hard times come, look for the beauty too. God only allows things to shape us for good, if only we will work with Him. I’ve been stuck lately, but now I see what He was working to accomplish through it. It hurt, but now I see much clearer, you can too. There are usually always two ways to look at something.
