Return Policy and Backorders
1. Our Happiness Guarantee (Change of Mind)
If a book within a series isn’t right for you, we offer a 30-day store credit (issued as an electronic Happiness Gift Card). The Happiness Guarantee is limited to one gift card per book series per customer and must be requested within 30 days of delivery.
Method: All “change of mind” refunds are issued as a Lee’s Novels and Books electronic gift card of equal value, sent to the email address used at checkout.
Condition: Physical items must be returned in their original packaging, unused, and in sellable condition.
Shipping: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for Happiness Guarantee returns.
2. Damaged or Defective Items
We take great care in packaging every order. However, if an item arrives damaged or defective, we will make it right.
Reporting Window: You must report damaged or defective items through our Contact Form within three (3) days of the delivery date.
Evidence: Please be prepared to upload clear photos of the damaged item and the original shipping packaging to help expedite your claim.
Resolution: For verified damaged goods reported within this time frame, you may choose between a replacement, store credit, or a refund to your original payment method.
Shipping: If an item is being returned due to damage or our error, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you. We waive all restocking fees and will not deduct original shipping costs from your refund.
3. Backorders & Partial Shipments
We reserve the right to backorder items that are part of a larger order.
- Partial Shipments: We may ship available items immediately and send backordered items as soon as they become available at no additional shipping cost to you.
- Cancellation: You may cancel the backordered portion of your order for a full refund to your original payment method via the Contact form at any time before it ships.
4. Unauthorized & Late Returns
- Authorization: No returns will be accepted or credit given for unauthorized returns.
- Damaged or defective items must be reported within three(3) days of delivery. Requests received after this time frame will not be eligible for authorization.
- Approved returns must be received within thirty (30) days of the initial authorization date. Returns received after this period will not be eligible for a refund or store credit.
- Liability: We cannot be responsible for lost or delayed shipments sent to us for credit.
5. Exclusions
The following items are not eligible for return or refund:
- Items marked “Final Sale.”
- Gift Cards: Once purchased, gift cards cannot be returned or redeemed for cash.
- Used or Altered Products: Items not in their original, “new” condition.
- Unreported Damage: Items returned as “damaged” that were not reported within the 3-day window.
6. How to Start a Return
To initiate a return or replacement, please follow these steps:
- Visit our Contact Form before your 30-day happiness window (or 3-day window for damage) expires.
- Provide your Order Number and the reason for your return.
- Our team will respond within 3 business days with shipping instructions for printed products.
- Printed Books: Returns must be approved in advance through our Contact Form. Once authorized, you will receive return instructions and the appropriate return address. Please ensure the item is securely packaged for safe shipping.
Refund Method Clarification
Refunds to the original form of payment are available only for verified damaged or defective items reported within the required timeframe.
All “change of mind” returns under our Happiness Guarantee are issued exclusively as store credit in the form of a Happiness Gift Card.
