Four Birds A Calling

So, are they really your true love? Why would anyone in their right mind, wanting to continue a loving relationship, if they indeed considered someone their true love, send all those birds, and different ones at that. A partridge (4), two turtle doves (6), three French hens (6), and now they’re topping it all off with Four Birds a Calling? Don’t forget your lovely, landscaped yard, it will soon not only have lots of birds, now there are four pear trees to plant.

I absolutely loved this, other than I’ve heard the song so many times now.

If I gave my true love all those birds I’d be packing my bags.

What’s the true love supposed to do with all those birds? And what would the true love do if they knew every day they had more of them coming? Personally, I would send them back! No need to explain that.

Christmas is supposed to be fun, take those Four Birds a Calling back.

Wasn’t the twelve days of Christmas supposed to be a celebration? Pardon me, but at my house day two would have torn at my inner being. The fact that Christmas is my favorite time of the year notwithstanding, I would be irate, wouldn’t you?

ANOTHER GREAT anytime GIFT

Much nicer than I!

If you watched the video, you’ll see she’s somewhat nicer than I would’ve been. Day four, Four Birds a Calling, may have pushed me forever off Santa’s nice list. The next thing you know I would be like the little boy in Polar Express saying, “I didn’t do it!” But bird feathers don’t tell fibs.

Starting to add up.

If I did the math correctly our true love now has twenty birds at her house, and four pear trees that will be needed for all those birds to roost. I’ll get back to this in a moment, for those of you who like a positive spin to having all these birds coming your way, here’s some soothing music. You guessed it, Twelve Days of Christmas, and watch out for the Four Birds a Calling, they can get loud.

Rumors, myths and whispers aside

As the myth or rumor goes about Christians hiding a meaning in the song, today, Four Birds a Calling was supposed to represent the four Gospels of the New Testament. The books are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Depicting the work and life of our Lord and savior, Jesus, the Christ. Many have debunked the theory, but I’m not voicing an opinion. It does sound better than someone thinking all these gifts would endear someone’s true love.

After all, Christmas is about the true love of all true loves. Jesus. He left heaven and became flesh, coming in a humble way, and living a humble lifestyle. He gave everything, his life, and we can all freely receive His salvation and place with Him forever. I hope this Christmas found you believing in Christ.

I know someone who has some birds, if you’re interested.

Back to the video, did you notice how all those gifts piled up? Her eyes began bulging after the partridge in the pear tree. At least she may have gotten some pears out of it. I’ll be back tomorrow, day five. Maybe she’ll get something with an intrinsic value to support all those birds.
