We’ve all been through bad times—some were worse than bad—only to have someone tell us “it’s just a test of faith.” Have you ever pondered what that even means? I hadn’t, until recently. It’s been nearly eight years since my biggest tests of faith took me by surprise, and let’s face it, if it’s a test of faith, it’s usually by surprise. Tests of faith sometimes encompass everything, mine did, but I kept slogging through it. Most times that’s all we can do.
While I’m not going into it today, I have written two books because of that test. The first, FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS, deals directly with the circumstances before, during and after the test. Fortunately, I passed the test the first time (click the titles for free preview). The second book is THE HALLWAY OF EXPECTATION, a fictional look about following God, and operating in the unknown.

Just a test of faith
I never knew though that as a teen I was tested in ways I couldn’t see, ways that dramatically altered the course of my life; and I didn’t even know about it until recently, its the inspiration God used for my latest novel, THE MARKS BOY’S ROCK. Nick is being tested, only he doesn’t know it either, at first. I hope you get the chance to read it when it’s published,( 2023)? News to come.

Just recently Kathy and I watched this movie, it is a tear jerker, but the message is sensational. A walk to Remember is about a youth who’s teen prank goes wrong. Bad boy Landon unwittingly falls for the local minister’s daughter (the book is totally different).
Here’s a quick preview. Warning there are alcohol and sexual innuendos, though brief be fore warned.
